The Office of Nuclear Regulatory Research (RES) has completed Technical Letter Report (TLR)

TLR-RES/DE/CIB-2020-10, Technical Input for the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commissions Review of the 2017 Edition of ASME Section III, Division 5, High Temperature Reactors:

Subsection HH, Class A Nonmetallic Core Support Structures, Subpart A, Graphite Materials, (Agencywide Documents Access Management System (ADAMS) Accession No. ML20344A001) in support of the NRCs review of Section III, Division 5, High Temperature Reactors, of the 2017 edition of the ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code.

The assessment provides recommendations that will be used to inform the technical basis in the upcoming staff-generated NUREG for the potential endorsement of ASME Section III, Division 5.

Please feel free to notify the responsible RES contact if you have any questions concerning the impending public release of this TLR. RES established an online quality survey to collect feedback from user offices on the usefulness of RES products and services. This survey can be found online at the RES Quality Survey. I would appreciate the responsible manager or supervisor completing this shortabout 5 minutessurvey within the next 10 working days to present your offices views of the delivered RES product.
