Enclosed is an application received by the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC), dated November 19, 2020, from ISOFLEX Radioactive, LLC, for a specific license (PXB238.00) to export Category 1 and 2 quantities of lridium-192, Selenium-75 and Ytterbium-169 to up to 10 named distributors and end users located in Pakistan. The sealed sources will be used for industrial radiography.
Since Pakistan is on the restricted destinations list (10 CFR Part 110.29), before taking action on this new request, we would appreciate your views, in accordance with established procedures and from the overall perspective of the Executive Branch, as to whether the requested export meets the applicable criteria in the atomic Energy Act of 1954, as amended.
