NRC Status Update Regarding Public Watchdogs' 2.206 Petition Request Dated 10/13/2020 Mr. Langley, As the petition manager of your October 13, 2020, 2.206 petition, I want to provide the following update on the NRC staff actions with respect to your petition.
In my prior email communication on October 21, 2020, I shared that we received your 10 CFR 2.206 petition submittal, Demands for Information (DFI) from Southern California Edison (SCE) as licensee using the Hi-Storm UMAX System at San Onofre, dated October 13, 2020, and that we had started the initial screening of your petition.
In accordance with Section II.B.1 of the NRC Management Directive Handbook 8.11, the NRC staff has concluded that the concerns expressed in your petition do not warrant any short-term immediate action. Currently, we are in the process of completing the initial screening of your petition request, and we will provide you with a more detailed update when the screening process is completed.
