[External_Sender] Nuclear Waste Storage Facility, Eunice, NM To Whom It May Concern at The Nuclear Regulatory Commission.
As a long time resident of Southern New Mexico I am asking you to deny the license for Waste Control Specialists/Interim Storage Partners' proposal for a high-level nuclear waste storage facility outside of Eunice, NM.
I am aware this high-level radioactive waste would be transported via Union Pacific Railway, passing through southern New Mexico and West Texas (Lordsburg, Deming, Sunland Park, El Paso-Juarez)
. It would pose a risk from accidents, leaks, sabotage, and routine transport emissions. This is unacceptable for the communities it could affect and for the environment.
Your NRC's Draft Environmental Impact Statement does not evaluate the risk to communities along transportation routes. This needs to be done.
