[External_Sender] comments on Docket ID NRC-2016-0231/Report Number NUREG-2239 To Whom It May Concern:
I would like to voice my opposition to the transport and "interim" storage of highly radioactive waste to Texas by Interim Storage Partners. I am concerned about exposure along the routes of transportation. I am concerned that the waste will end up in Texas permanently. I am also very concerned that low income and minority communities are having this waste foisted upon them.
As a resident of southeast Idaho, I know how "interim" storage becomes more or less permanent and I also know that cleanup of this waste is slow and expensive and not always effective. I think this is a bad idea. Please do not require these communities to bear the environmental costs of other people's messes. Thank you.
Sincerely, Kathy O'Brien
