The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) is publishing the following document in the Federal Register:

Title:

American Society of Mechanical Engineers 20192020 Code Editions.

  • Description of the rule: The NRC is proposing to amend its regulations in accordance with its practice to periodically update the regulations to incorporate by reference new editions of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) codes. This rule is intended to maintain the safety of nuclear power plants, make NRC activities more effective and efficient, and allow nuclear power plant licensees and applicants to take advantage of the latest ASME codes.
  • Dates: The public comment period on this proposed rule closes 60 days after publication.
  • This is not a major rule as defined by the Congressional Review Act.
