Dear Nuclear Regulatory Commission (TX CIS),
Members of the NRC, Senators Gillibrand and Schumer:
I am concerned about the environmental impacts of transporting nuclear waste to and from the proposed Interim Storage Partners (ISP) high level waste storage site in Texas.
One concern is that the number of radioactive shipments that would travel through many US states by train, road and barge would clearly be a large number, and in no way could be described as "small."
Another concern is that the reports cited by your analysis glaringly underestimate the probability of serious accidents especially for rail freight and fires.
I object to these unnecessary risks which I've noted above and ask NRC to reject this ISP license application.
