OF WESTINGHOUSE ELECTRIC COMPANY 2020 FUEL PERFORMANCE UPDATE CLOSED MEETING (EPID L-2020-LRO-0046)
On September 15, 2020, Westinghouse Electric Company (Westinghouse) held the 2020 Westinghouse Fuel Performance Update Meeting in a form of teleconference. Westinghouse presented proprietary information regarding Westinghouse fuel performance and its future plans.
Westinghouse provided updates on the pressurized water reactor (PWR) fuel performance and methods: - PWR licensing updates neutronics (qualification of the two-dimensional PARAGON2 transport code - topical report under review), thermal-hydraulics (COBRA-TF code update), AXIOM cladding (licensing plans, properties, performance data, future topical report submittal), changes in performance trends; - boiling water reactor (BWR) fuel performance and methods: debris leaker elimination initiative, Low Tin ZIRLOTM update, TRITON11TM fuel development, PRIME fuel; - accident tolerant fuel (ATF) program: EnCore fuel program, ADOPTTM fuel, chromium-coated cladding, licensing, high burnup/high enrichment activities. Additional topics of discussion were additive manufacturing (AM), Westinghouse AM nuclear fuel components, and reverse engineering development efforts. By letter dated September 14, 2020, Westinghouse submitted presentation slides (Agencywide Documents Access and Management System (ADAMS) Accession No. ML20280A359).
