[External_Sender] No nuclear waste in Texas

Dear Nuclear Regulatory Commission,

Dear NRC Commissioners and Staff,

Interim Storage Projects application to store radioactive waste in Texas would bring in 40,000 tons of spent nuclear fuel from nuclear reactors around the country.

The policy of transporting waste out of one state and storing it elsewhere encourages the use of nuclear power by allowing states to avoid the hazards involved with storage, along with the public pressure which accompanies it. Having states 'hold their own' waste will eventually prove so inconvenient that states may abandon nuclear power altogether.

Sincerely, Robert Simpson 1100 Sussex Ln Flint, MI 48532
