SUMMARY
OF THE OCTOBER 6, 2020, CATEGORY 1 PUBLIC TELECONFERENCE WITH NUSCALE POWER, LLC TO DISCUSS THE TOPICAL REPORT PRE-SUBMITTAL APPLICATION The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) held a Category 1 public teleconference on October 6, 2020, to discuss a topical report (Building Design and Analysis Methodology for Safety-Related Structures) pre-submittal of the NuScale Power, LLC (NuScale) standard design approval (SDA) application. Several members of the general public participated via bridgeline during the meeting.

U.S. NUCLEAR REGULATORY COMMISSION CATEGORY 1 PUBLIC TELECONFERENCE TO DISCUSS THE NUSCALE POWER, LLC, TOPICAL REPORT PRE-SUBMITTAL APPLICATION Overview:
The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) held a Category 1 public teleconference on October 6, 2020, to discuss a topical report (Building Design and Analysis Methodology for Safety-Related Structures) pre-submittal of the NuScale Power, LLC (NuScale) standard design approval (SDA) application. Two members of the general public participated via a bridgeline during the meeting.
During the meeting, NuScale presented the scope of topical report on Building Design and Analysis Methodology for the SDA application. NuScale presented that buildings will be constructed using steel-plate composite wall panels in lieu of reinforced concrete walls.
Modifications using this design will include the reactor building, control building, and radioactive waste building. The NRC technical staff provided feedback on aspects of the topical report during the meeting.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the NRC staff opened up the meeting to questions from the general public. No questions were asked and the public portion of the meeting was adjourned.
