STATUS OF RECOMMENDATION: AUDIT OF NRCS PMDA AND DRMA FUNCTIONS TO IDENTIFY PROGRAM EFFICIENCIES (OIG-17-A-18)

REFERENCE:

OFFICE OF THE EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR FOR OPERATIONS MEMORANDUM DATED JULY 13, 2020 Attached is the Office of the Inspector Generals (OIG) analysis and status of the recommendation as discussed in the agencys response dated July 13, 2020. Based on this response, the recommendation remains open and resolved. Please provide a status update on the resolved recommendation by February 5, 2021.

Audit Report AUDIT OF NRCS PMDA AND DRMA FUNCTIONS TO IDENTIFY PROGRAM EFFICIENCIES OIG-17-A-18 Status of Recommendation Recommendation 1: Complete implementation of all Mission Support Task Force recommendations that may assist in optimizing the use of resources and result in improving standardization and centralization throughout the agency.

Agency Response Dated July 13, 2020: Since our February 2019 report, the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission has closed recommendations 2, 5, 6, 15, 20, and

26. Recommendations 16 and 21, related to expanding the use of the Federal Personnel/Payroll System (FPPS) to facilitate the electronic approval of personnel actions and full implementation of the FPPS, respectively, remain open.

OIG Analysis: The proposed action meets the intent of the recommendation.

Closure of OIGs recommendation is contingent on the agency efforts to complete implementation of the 27 recommendations made by the Mission Support Task Force. The agency has completed action on Mission Support Task Force recommendations 1-15, 17-20, and 22-27. Recommendations 16 and 21 remain open.
