Dear NRC staff,

I am writing to submit a public comment in response to the Draft Environmental Impact Statement (Docket ID NRC-2018-0052) regarding Holtec Internationals application for a license to build and operate a Consolidated Interim Storage Facility for Spent Nuclear Fuel and High Level Waste (NUREG-2237).

As a New Mexico native, I am strongly opposed to the Holtec storage proposal.

This seems to disproportionally affect indigenous people in tribal lands nearby and people of color along the rail routes.

Why cant the waste be stored at point of use like it has been for decades? Harden those facilities.

The NRC motto is Protecting People and the Environment. So do THAT.

New Mexicans do not consent becoming a nuclear wasteland for millions of years!
