[External_Sender] Please do not approve Holtec permit in New Mexico

Dear Nuclear Regulatory Commission Holtec comments,

Hello to All Involved:

Given the world-wide inclination towards horrific accidents, including in the USA, this is plan is an invitation towards disaster. New Mexico already has sacrificed enough for the nuclear industry. The posturing about power in the world with the promise of potential use of nuclear weapons needs to stop, for all of our sakes!

There have been way over 100 serious nuclear accidents and incidents from the use of nuclear power.

Fifty-seven accidents or severe incidents have occurred since the Chernobyl disaster, and about 60% of all nuclear-related accidents/severe incidents have occurred in the USA.

There is no permanent plan or method for how to deal with high-level radioactive waste. Profit is no kind of justification for carrying on the dangerous procedures for transporting it by rail or any other means, across the country. This is not intelligent, nor wise.

In the medical world, and only when necessary, is the only legitimate use for radioactive substances.

I object to the approval of the Holtec Consolidated Interim Storage site near Carlsbad, NM. It would be safer to reduce transportation of highly radioactive used reactor fuel by leaving it at the site of generation until a permanent repository exists. ?

-- The proposed site is near a highway, presenting a terrorism risk.

--?The plan does not adequately address radiation risk to workers. ?

--?There should be real-time monitoring for leakage.

--?The lack of consideration of Hardened On-Site Storage at the reactor site as an alternative is a glaring problem. ?

--?The lack of an on-site plan to deal with leakage is extremely concerning.

Thank you for your consideration.
