[External_Sender] Please do not approve Holtec permit in New Mexico

Dear Nuclear Regulatory Commission Holtec comments,

?This we know: the earth does not belong to man, man belongs to the earth. All things are connected like the blood that unites us all. Man did not weave the web of life, he is merely a strand in it. Whatever he does to the web, he does to himself.

One thing we know: our God is also your God. The earth is precious to him and to harm the earth is to heap contempt on its creator.? - Chief Seattle

Dear NRC Commissioners,

I humbly request that you consider the relevance of this famous quotation as you consider whether to approve Holtec's application. The myriad technical issues aside, the fundamental question is what is the right thing to do? We have been harming the earth and heaping contempt on God for far too long. Will approving this application begin the long process of healing the earth, or simply enable and prolong the abuse? In the absence of a comprehensive solution to the nuclear waste problem, I am concerned that the answer is the latter.

Sincerely, Kevin Bean Albuquerque, NM I object to the approval of the Holtec Consolidated Interim Storage site near Carlsbad, NM. It would be safer to reduce transportation of highly radioactive used reactor fuel by leaving it at the site of generation until a permanent repository exists. ?

-- The proposed site is near a highway presenting a terrorism risk.

--?The plan does not adequately address radiation risk to workers. ?

--?There should be real-time monitoring for leakage.

--?The lack of consideration of Hardened On-Site Storage at the reactor site as an alternative is a glaring problem. ?

--?The lack of an on-site plan to deal with leakage is extremely concerning.

Thank you for your consideration Sincerely, Kevin Bean 131 Highway 66 E Albuquerque, NM 87123 kevinbean06@comcast.net (505) 293-9208
