[External_Sender] Please do not approve Holtec permit in New Mexico
Dear Nuclear Regulatory Commission Holtec comments,
Please spare some of the last, wild and most beautiful places in the West! We are a poor state, but our hope lies in the great hearts of our people and their desire to elevate New Mexico and its economy, through tourism and education, so that visitors have an even better experience enjoying our natural beauty. We want so badly to save our scenic places already overrun by oil and fracking. Please do not visit this new, environmental terror on us, and ruin our beloved desert, we beg of you.
Respectfully and Sincerely Yours, Mrs. Leslie Patterson I object to the approval of the Holtec Consolidated Interim Storage site near Carlsbad, NM. It would be safer to reduce transportation of highly radioactive used reactor fuel by leaving it at the site of generation until a permanent repository exists. ?
-- The proposed site is near a highway presenting a terrorism risk.
--?The plan does not adequately address radiation risk to workers. ?
--?There should be real-time monitoring for leakage.
--?The lack of consideration of Hardened On-Site Storage at the reactor site as an alternative is a glaring problem. ?
--?The lack of an on-site plan to deal with leakage is extremely concerning.
Thank you for your consideration Sincerely, David And Leslie Patterson 1696 High St Las Cruces, NM 88011 risfawnser@tvn.net (575) 993-3997 This message was sent by KnowWho, as a service provider, on behalf of an individual associated with Sierra Club Rio Grande Chapter.
