Subject:

[External_Sender] Holtec interim storage Yucca Mountain dump in Nevada is known for scientific reasons to not be suitable for nuclear waste storage. Some years back a science engineer there said the Yucca site was clearly unsuitable, and that a much more appropriate nuclear waste storage area would be the salt flats of Texas. But apparently the NRC is not going to approach Texans about storing nuclear waste on their lands, but rather target New Mexican lands in southeastern New Mexico and Native American lands in Nevada.

In regard to this Holtec site, which is geologically troublesome, and wont be interim but rather long-term, I ask that the NRC obey the Nuclear Waste Policy Act of 1982, as Amended, and find a suitable permanent repository at the Texas salt flats.

The NRCs DEIS cannot be approved because it is incomplete for many reasons, including information regarding the routes and high risks of transport.

Thank you, Sylvia Lambert Interior, SD
