Dear Nuclear Regulatory Commission Holtec comments,

It would be unconscionable to approve the Holtec permit in New Mexico. You would be kicking the can down the road, endangering people and future generations across the country. It is past time to acknowledge that there is NO GOOD PLAN for safely storing nuclear waste. That is the first step toward slowing the growth of this industry. Please do not concentrate the risk in one place, let alone in New Mexico. This is not a waste dump!

I object to the approval of the Holtec Consolidated Interim Storage site near Carlsbad, NM. It would be safer to reduce transportation of highly radioactive used reactor fuel by leaving it at the site of generation until a permanent repository exists. ?

-- The proposed site is near a highway presenting a terrorism risk.

--?The plan does not adequately address radiation risk to workers. ?

--?There should be real-time monitoring for leakage.

--?The lack of consideration of Hardened On-Site Storage at the reactor site as an alternative is a glaring problem. ?

--?The lack of an on-site plan to deal with leakage is extremely concerning.
