Title:
Retrospective Review of Administrative Requirements Meeting Identifier: 20200995 Date: August 27, 2020 Location: Skype Category: Category 3 Purpose of the Meeting: To discuss the Nuclear Energy Institutes (NEIs) comments on the Retrospective Review of Administrative Requirements (RROAR).
General Details: The meeting was attended by 31 NRC staff and 4 members of the public via Skype and/or teleconference.
Summary of Presentation: The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) staff asked questions to seek clarification on specific comments NEI had submitted to the agencys request for public input on the RROAR initiative. NEIs comments can be found in the Agencywide Documents Access and Management System (ADAMS) under Accession No. ML20128J340.
Summary of Public Feedback: NEI provided clarifications based on the NRC staffs questions in the slide presentation referenced below. NEI indicated that a follow-up meeting to clarify reporting requirements related to the fitness for duty programs may be needed.
Action Items/Next Steps:
The NRC staff will review and evaluate input received from the public to inform the development of its recommendation to the Commission on outdated or duplicative administrative requirements that could be modified or eliminated. The NRC evaluated and concluded that a follow-up meeting to clarify reporting requirements relating to the fitness for duty programs under the RROAR initiative is not needed, as the NRC staff has received enough information to complete its evaluation of staff and public suggestions for the RROAR project.
