- Hello, The NRC staff is preparing to issue the following license amendment regarding the Point Beach Nuclear Plant, Unit 1. A brief description of the license amendment request (LAR) is provided below. Additional information can be found in the licensees submittal dated August 13, 2020, available in ADAMS Accession No. ML20226A313.
Please let me know if you have any comments or questions regarding this licensing action by September 8, 2020, if possible. My current projection for issuance of the amendment is October 1, 2020.

Brief
Description:
The amendment would modify the Point Beach Nuclear Plant, Unit 1 Renewed Facility Operating License Condition 4.I, Containment Building Construction Truss, by extending elements of the license condition on a one-time basis for another 18 months to the spring of 2022. The one-time extension is requested due to unforeseen issues as a result of the Coronavirus Disease 2019 public health emergency. The NRC issued a proposed finding that the amendment involves no significant hazards consideration in the Federal Register on August 25, 2020 (85 FR 52379) (Link). The NRC has not received any public comments or requests for hearing on this LAR, thus far.
