1998 EMERGENCY PREPAREDNESS EXERCISE SCENARIO

Dear Mr. Cottle:

. We have review your letter dated June 3,1998, and the enclosed scenario package for the

' South Texas Project Electric Generating Station biennial emergency preparedness exercise scheduled for August 5,1998.

Based on our review, we determined that the exercise scenario is appropriate to meet emergency plan requirements and exercise objectives. Minor questions were resolved during a June 22,1998, telephone discussion with Mr. Kevin Keyes of your staff.

We were unable to contact the Federal Emergency Management Agency, Region VI, during our review. If any comments arise during subsequent contact, we will relay them to your staff.
