June 17,1998 Dr. Shirley Jackson U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission Mail Stop 16CI One White Flynt North 11555 Rockville Pike Rockville,MD 20852
Dear Dr. Jackson:
I am writing to you because I'm extremely concemed over the possibility of the Millstone Nuclear Power Plant opening. I live on Eastern Long Island and I fear for my wife, family and others who live too close to this timebomb. It is an impossible consideration for us to be able to evacuate off the Island if an emergency should occur. Nuclear Power is not a safe or sensible form of energy and I don't support it. I believe more money should be invested on research for solar and wind power. It would be a truly clean, safe and responsible form of energy. Don't waste anymore time and money on building more power plants that has the capability of destroying us and our environment, that we depend on to sustain life. Don't take a gamble on our lives. There is to much to loss. Evsn ifit's considered a long shot.
Sincerely, Iew
