Discuss with the nuclear industry and the public on the status of efforts at NRC to integrate risk insights into the decision making process for commercial nuclear reactors. This workshop directly follows the Utility /NRC Interface Licensing Workshop, July 20-21,1998, at the Bethesda Marriott (Pookshill). A summary of the questions and comments discust,od at the workshop on risk-informed regulation efforts at NRC and of staff follow up actions will be generated by the staff and distributed to the participants.

The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) is hoping for wide participation by both the public and utility representatives at the forthcoming workshop on risk-informed regulation efforts at NRC. We wish to have a significant dialog with stakeholder in the regulatory process regarding how risk-informed efforts have progressed and what can be done to improve the process.
