MEETING WITH NRC BY REPRESENTATIVES OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS CONCERNING THORIUM ORE RESIDUES IU REED-KEPPLER PARK Gerald Day and two other members of the Illinois AEC and Illinois State Senator Mitchler have requested a meeting with the Office of Inspection and Enforcement on the afternoon of August 30, 1976, to discuss the problem of thorium ore residues in. Reed-Keppler Park, West Chicago, Illinois. See PNO-76-116, ll6A, and ll6B.
Mr. Day indicated that the U.S. Senators from Illinois and four U. S.
Representatives from Illinois have been notified of the eeeting. The Offic3 of State Programs indicated that Congressman Erlenborn or a l
member of his staff may attend the meeting.
er-ERDA has been notified of the meeting and has been invited to partici-pate. The office of Congressional Affairs has also been notified of the meeting.
The Office of Inspection and Enforcement, Headquarters, received the request for the meeting by telephone from Mr. Day approximately 4:30 P.M. on August 11, 1976.
It was learned on August 24 that a i
N.- member of Congressman Erlenborn's staff will attend the meeting.
