Page 2 of 2 The purpose of this modification is to: (1) obligate additional funds in the amount of $77,000, thereby increasing the obligated amount and total cost of this Agreement from $600,000 to

$677,000. The additional funds are needed due to an increase in the number of summer appointments for NRC's Historically Black Colleges and Universities Research Participation Program. and (2) extend the period of performance from " September 30,1998" to " October 31, 1998." Accordingly, the following changes are hereby made:

1. Notice of Cooperative Agreement Award, first page, item No.15, "NRC OBLIGATION OF FUNDS"is revised to read as follows:
