NEAR BURIAL SITE '

Notification was raceived by the Region III Office (Chicago) or. June 14, 1976, from a City Councilman of Mineral, Illinois, that water samples had been taken by local citizens from lakes in the vicinity of the NECO burial site in Sheffield, Illinois. The Councilman stated that a University of Michigan professor stated one lake contained a high level of radioactivity, and that there is only one possible source of th.is activity - the burial grounds. The Councilman questioned what steps were being taken to protect the public and whether radioactivity levels "
