The information presented is as initially received without verification or evaluation and is basically all that is known by OLE staf f as of 9:00 A.M. on date of this notification.
IT SHOULD BE SPECIFICALLY NOTED THAT THIS NOTIFICATION MAY CONTAIN INFOPJiATION THAT LATER MAY BE DETERMINED TO BE INACCURATE OR INCONSISTENT. AN OFFICE OF INSPECTION AND ENFORCEMENT NOTIFICATION OF AN IUCIDENT OR OCCURRENCE (BLUE SHEET) SUBSEQUENTLY WILL BE ISSUED IF WARRANTED.

Subject:
TV AND PRESS COVERAGE AT ZIMMER SITE FOLLOWING ALLEGATIONS THAT RECEIPT INSPECTIONS ARE NOT BEING ACCOMPLISHED Representatives of TV Channel 12, Cincinnati, Ohio, telephoned Region III and stated that they have received permission from the licensee, Cincinnati Gas and Electric Company, to make TV tapes of the NRC inspection to be conducted at the Zimmer site by Region III inspectors.
On February 23, 1976, an individual notified the NRC Office of.Public Affairs and alleged that receipt inspections were not conducted as required on materials being received at the Zimmer site. Region III (Chicago) was subsequently informed of this allegation.
Inspection and investigation personnel from Region III met with the alleger, an employee of Kaiser Engineers, Inc., during the evening of February 24, 1976.
They will followup on the allegations and make a site inspection at Zimmer today.
h' The Region III personnel were advised that TV and Press coverage can be expected
/l at the Zimmer site about 10:00 am (EST) today.

Region III received notification of this occurrence by telephone from TV Channel 12 at 2:00 P.M., February 24, 1976.
