1 This letter provides formal notification, in accordance with the requirements of 10CFR50.74(a), of a change in status of the following Senior Operator license.

Edward W. Callan, Jr. 55-60242 SOP-10178-3 By letter dated March 2,1998, the NRC granted authorization to suspend Mr. Callan's participation in the Limerick Generating Station (LGS) Licensed Operator Requalification (LOR) program due to his assignment to the Nuclear Quality Assurance (NQA) organization at Peach Bottom Atomic Power Station. This letter required that Mr. Callan be enrolled in an accelerated requalification program, pass a comprehensive requalification examination, and meet the requirements of certain 10CFR55 and 10CFR26 regulations prior to retuming to licensed duties, in addition, this letter requested that, prior to retuming Mr. Callan to licensed duties, PECO Nuclear certify in writing to the NRC that he has successfully completed the accelerated LGS LOR program requirements in accordance with 10CFR55.59(b).

Mr. Callan has subsequently retumed to LGS; hov.9sr, he will not be retuming to licensed duties based on his new assignment. Therefore, his license is no longer 1 considered necessary as originally certified under 10CFR55.31(a)(3). 6 g
