PNS-77-05 This preliminary notification constitutes EARLY notico of events of POSSIBLE national security or public interest significance. The information presented is as initially received without verification or evaluation and is basically all that is known by IE staff as of this date.

BOMB THREAT At 3:15 p.m., March 1, 1977, a telephone call was received at the UE&C switchboard at Middletown, Pa. (TMI-2) site. A male, muffled, voice stated "You better tell everybody to get out, this place is going to blow up."
He then hung up.
The Bomb Threat Procedure at both TMI-1 and THI-2 was invoked. The Pennsylvania State Police were notifed and are responding. Management judged this to be a hoax. Work at the site was not interrupted. Nothing amiss has been found.

Region I, NRC, Philadelphia, Pa. received notification of this occurrence by telephone call from the Site Manager at 3:40 p.m. 3/1/77.
The IAT was notified 3/1/77.
