PRELIMINARY NOTIFICATION OF SAFEGUARDS EVENT-PNS-i7-13 This preliminary n' notification constitutes EARLY notice of events of POSSIBLE national security or public interest significance. The information presented is as initially received without verification or evaluation and is basically all that is known by IE staff as of this date.

At 0833 March 31, 1977, the licensee reported by telephone to the Region V' office the following:
At 1845 hours0.0214 days <br />0.513 hours <br />0.00305 weeks <br />7.020225e-4 months <br /> March 30, 1977 an unknown male called the Diablo Canyon switchboard and stated that an explosive device had been planted in Unit No. 1 and it would explode before midnight. At that time there were approximately 30-40 employees on site (excluding guard force).
1 Employees were informed and given the option to leave.

l employees did leave the-site, the-remaining employees-and-the guard - -
force conducted a' search of Unit No.'1.

The licensee plans to notify 'the San,Luis Obispo County Sheriff's Office O'
today. The Oakland Office FBI was notified by Region V at 0940, March 31,
