PRELIMINARY NOTIFICATION OF SAFEGUARDS EVENT--
PNS-77-11 This preliminary notification constitutes EARLY notfce of events of POSSIBLE national security.or public interest significance. The information presented is as initially received without verification or evaluation and is basically all that is known by IE staff as of this date.

SUBJECT:
BOMB THREAT At about 1300, March 23, 1977, a second bomb threat was received on the Unit 2 construction switchboard. The operator said the voice was muffled but sounded like that of a man. The caller said, "I know there's a bomb, have you found it yet?"
The licensee notified plant personnel and conducted a search of both Unit 1 and Unit 2 since the caller did not specify the affected Unit in the threat. No bombs were found and the site was not evacuated. The local Sheriff and the local FBI agent were notified.
The licensee was able to trace the call to the same telephone number from j/
which the original bomb threat (PNS 77-10) was placed. The Sheriff and

local Prosecutor were dispatched to the address of the above telephone number and subsequently arrested a female suspect.
The licensee does not plan to make a press relt.ase, but media interest may be expected as a result of the arrest.
