The information presented is as initially received without verification or evaluation and is basically all that is known by IE staff as of this date. l Facility: Diablo Canyon Units Nos. 1 and 2 Pacific Gas & Electric Coe 7y (DNS 50-275 and 50-323) San Luis Obispo County, California SubjectL BOMB THREAT On November 16, 1978, the French Hospital in San Luis Obispo California, received two (2) anonymous telephone bomb threats concerning Diablo Canyon. The first threat was received at approximately 10:15 p.m. A male voice stated, "There's a bomb going to go off at Diablo Canyon at 11:05 p.m. and get some beds ready". At 10:17 p.m., the same male called again and stated, "Thats at 11:05 a.m. tomorrow" and then hung up. The licensee conducted searches for the bomb on November'16 and 17, 1978, with negative results. The licensee gave the construction workers I the option of continuing to work or evacuating the s..e. Approximately , q 75% of the workers elected to leave. Media interest is expected by the licensee. Neither the licensee, nor l the NRC plan to issue a press release.
