INTEGRATED MATERIALS PERFORMANCE EVALUATION i PROGRAM (IMPEP) REVIEW OF ARKANSAS RAOIATION CONTROL PROGRAM i
This memorandum transmits to the Management Review Board (MRB) a proposed final report (Attachment 1) documenting the IMPEP review of the Arkansas Radiation Control Program.
The review of the Arkansas program was conducted by an interoffice team during the period March 23-27,1998. The team issued a draft report to Arkansas on May 1,1998, for factual comment. Arkansas sent factual comments by letter dated May 26,1998, from Dr. Sandra B. ,
Nichols, Director, Arkansas Department of Health (Attachment to proposed final report).
/ i The review team found Arkansas' performance with respect to each of the common performance indicators and the non-common performance indicator, Legislation and j )
j Regulations, to be satisfactory. The review team found Arkansas' performance with respect to the non-common performance indicator, Sealed Source and Device Evaluation Program, to be satisfactory with recommendations for improvement. Accordingly, the team recommends that the Management Review Board find the Arkansas program to be adequate to protect put:lic health and safety and compatible with NRC's program. j j
