Thank you for your letter of January 29,1998, responding to our review of the final South Carolina 10 CFR Part 20 equivalent regulation. We appreciate the actions you are taking to address our comments and ask that you provide us an opportunity to review any proposed and final changes that are made to your regulations. As requested in All Agreement States Letter SP-96-027, "Reauest to Hiohlight Changes to Aareement State Regulations Submitted to NRC for Compatibility Review"(March 1,1996), please highlight the changes in the regulations and send one copy in a computer readable format, if possible.

Brian K. Smith Rodney L Or.ndy This is in reference to the NRC review of South Carolina's final Part 20 equivalent rules for compatibility with 10 CFR Part 20. The comments noted in your letter with enclosures dated December 15,1997, appear to be valid. We are currently in the process of revising our regulations, and we will incorporate all of the items identified in your letter into our state regulations at this time. These items will be essentially identical to that of NRC. These changes and revisions to our regulations should be completed within the next few months.
