This is to inform the Commission that a Notice of Violation wi!I be issued on January 16, 1998 to Construction Products Research, Inc. and Five Star Products, Inc. The action is based on a Severity Level I violation of 10 CFR 50.7, the Commission's regulation prohibiting discrimination against employees who raise safety concems and cooperate with the NRC. The staff consulted with the Commission on this action in SECY-97-281, and the Commission approved the issuance of the action by SRM dated January 15,1998.
It should be noted that the companies have not been specifically informed of the enforcement action. The schedule of issuance and notification is:
Mailing of Notice January 16,1998 Telephone Notification of Companies January 16,1998 The State of Connecticut will be notified.
The companies have thirty days from the date of the Notice in which to respond.
