INITIALCRITICILITY Initial criticality was achieved at 4:37 a.m. on March 28, 1978. Region I inspectors witnessed the evolution and reported that actual control rod configuration and boron concentration was in close agreement with predicted values and the evolution was conducted in a safe, orderly manner.

Media interest is expected because of close attention given to Three -

Mile Island, Unit 2 status.- The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania has been Is@

I NRC, Region I, (Philadelphia) received notification of this achievement by a telephone call from an inspector onsite at 8:00 a.m. on March 28, 1978. /
