FERMI INSPECTION REPORT 50-341/98006(DRP)
Dear Mr. Gipson:
On April 27,1998, the NRC completed an inspection at your Fermi 2 reactor facility. The
enclosed report presents the results of that inspection.
During the six-week period covered by this inspection, the plant operated well despite some
equipment problems that iracluded an anomaly that resulted in one reactor recirculation pump
scoop tube locked for most of the inspection period. Increased ownership of plant systems and
equipment was also evident. Problem resolution proceeded in an aggressive, yet conservative
manner. The inspectors also observed that plant equipment appeared to be properly maintained
and that your staff was effective in identifying and documenting equipment problems.
In accordance with 10 CFR 2.790 of the NRC's " Rules of Practice," a copy of this letter and the
enclosure will be placed in the NRC Public Document Room.
