SUBJECT:
NRC TEAM INSPECTION of ENGINEERING at the FITZPATRICK Plant I
An on-site team inspection, using NRC Inspection Procedures IP37001,IP40500 and IP93809,is planned for the FitzPatrick Plant during the period of July 27 to August 14,1998. The team effort will be in the area of 10CFR 50.59 evaluations, the identification and resolution of problems, a vertical slice inspection on the engineering
- inputs that support performance of two systems, and engineering involvement with operations and maintenance. The overall objective of the inspection is to determine whether the engineering functions are providing for safe and proper conduct of plant l
- operation. The team will include five inspectors, and a team leader.
To effectively prepare for the inspection, we request that you provide the documents listed in the attachment to the Region 1 office by July 15,1998. Should any of the requested documents not be readily available, we will consider alternative documents. The scope of requested documents was reviewed with Mr. Dave Wallace previously to provide additional lead time before the start of the inspection.
