Company (PE) and the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. '

II. STA! S REPORT By letter dated March 29, 1989, the NRC staff informed the Commonwealth and PE of certain concerns it had identified in its review I

of the settlement documents forwarded to the Staff in a letter of February 27, 1989. The letter of March 29th also expressed the Staff's j support for the intent of the agreement and suggested a meeting at the earliest opportunity between the Staff and the parties to the settlement.

, The Staff will file its next status report on May 1st unless l

significant developments take place prior to that time, in which case the Staff will report those developments promptly.

The Staff appreciates the Licensing Board's offer of assistance and intends to seek the Board's help if the need arises.
