NRC INSPECTION REPORT 70-7002/98008(DNMS) AND NOTICE OF VIOLATION
Dear Mr. Miller:
On May 8,1998, the NRC completed a maintenance and surveillance, operator training, management organization and controls, and radiation protection inspection at your Portsmouth Gaseous Diffusion Plant. The enclosed report presents the results of the inspection.
Based upon the results of the inspection, the NRC has determined that one violation of NRC requirements occurred. The violation is cited in the enclosed Notice of Violation (Notice) and the circumstances surrounding the violation are described in detailin the enclosed report. The violation indicated deficiencies by your staff to properly implement certain aspects of the plant training program.
You are required to respond to this letter and should follow the instructions specified in the enclosed Notice when preparing your response. The NRC will use your response, in part, to determine whether further enforcement action is necessary to ensure compliance with regulatory requirernents.
In accordance with 10 CFR 2.790 of the NRC's " Rules of Practice," a copy of this letter, its enclosures, and your respense will be placed in the NRC Public Document Room.
