We have published Revision 1 of the FM Handbook, which replaces Revision 0 in its entirety. A copy is enclosed for your use.

Revision 1 was written in accordance with the U.S. Government Style Guide, and

was edited by Ray Sanders, Technical Editor.
It is a much thinner book than Revision 0 since all outdated appendices have been eliminated.
In place of appendices, licensing assistants and NUDOCS are specifically identified as sources of current sample documents, a
Revision 1 emphasizes the PM as the NRR focal point for the assigned plant, in accordance with management philosophy. The following newly written sections describe either " required" PM actions (documents that prescribe these are cited), or recommend " good" practices currently used by some PMs. These sections should be read by all as a minimum:
1.3, Overview of PM Functions 1.4.3, PRA 2.4.7-2.4.9, Conduct of Meetings 2.4.24 and 3.6.13, Briefings by 01 on Restart and Licensing 3.2.2, Interaction with the Regional Office, PM Inspections 3.3.1.2, PM Reviews / Technical Branch Reviews 3.3.2, Emergency Authorizations 3.4.4, 10 CFR 50.59 Reviews by PMs 3.4.11, Site Visits by PMs 3.4.13 Review of Updated FSAR 3.4.14, Enforcement Conference and Action 3.6.3, Interpretation of Technical Specifications 5.17, Review of Inspections Reports 6.2.1, Document Control 0F0 d

The responsibility for periodic revision and publication of the handbook has been delegated to the PM Handbook Consnittee, consisting of T. Colburn, D. Fischer, K. Heitner, J. Norris N d P. Tam (Chairman). The comittee welcomes suggestions for future revisions, preferably in the form of marked-up pages or new writing.
