Request for Extension of Response Due Date For Notice of Violation In accordance with Appendix A (Notice of Violation) to Inspection Report 89-09 dated August 29, 1989, Portland General Electric Company respectfully requests a 14-day extension to tt'e existing 30-day violation response time.

.During the present forced outage, PGE's engineering staff has responded to additional problems found during the shutdown. Key individuals involved in providing input to the Notice of Violation (NOV) response were required to assume additional responsibilities and could not provide adequate response

.to the inspection report by the date necessary to meet the original time commitment of 30 days. In addition to responding to the NOVs, information pertaining to commitments, open items, and unresolved issues contained in the inspection report details are required to be included in the inspection report response. Obtaining the additional information to respond to these requests has also added to the overall effort necessary to reply to the inspection report.

Your response to our request for a 14-day extension to the September 28, 1989 due date is appreciated. Should you have any questions or need additional information, please do not heritate to contact us.
