This letter provides a revision to a commitment mode in Reference 1.

The comr.itaient to develop a schedule to correct the fault current problem for the 6.9-kV unit board load breakers after Unit 2 restart was further clarified in References 2 and 3 to identify a June 29, 1989, due date.

TVA is in the process of completing its review of the fault current problem for the 6.9-kV unit board breakers.

Five options have currently been identified as possible solutions.

The economic considerations, as well as the technical merits of each of thtse options, are being explored fully.

TVA will provide a detailed description and the implementation schedule for the resolution of this issue to NRC by October 20, 1989. This issue is not a nuclear safety concern.

The revised commitmer.t is summarized in the enclosure.
