The staff issued Generic Letter 97-04, " Assurance of Sufficient Net Positive Suction Head for Emergency Core Cooling and Containment Heat Removal Pumps" on October 7,1997. The GL requested that licensees provide information necessary to confirm the adequacy of the net positive suction head available for emergency core cooling and containment heat removal pumps. 1. What is the maximum sump temperature assumed in the NPSH analyses?
2. In response to question 2, it was stated that new NPSH calculations were in progress and would be complete by March 15,1998. The preliminary results of the new calculation were presented in response to question 2. What were the changes made in the new calculation in i

progress and will the final results be submitted to the staff?
