Dear Mr. Chappell:
This letter is in response to year letter of November 12. 1997, concerning our request to upgrade the UC-609 package. Certificate of Compliance No. 9932.
from a B( ) to a B(U).
Your letter contains, among other things, a request that the 34 fabrication drawings contained in the SARP be replaced with fewer drawings focused on safety and com)11ance issues.
The Department does not wish to divert funding to create t1e drawings you request and hereby withdraws its application to upgrade the UC-609 package.
The Department also requests termination of Revision 4. Certificate of Compliance USA /9932/B( ).
The Department will use the UC-609 package in accordance with an existing Department of Energy Certificate of Compliance.
