COMPARABILITY ADJUSTMENTS Subsequent to the submission of the FY 1989 Second Quarter Base Table in April 1989, the NRC made minor adjustments between program support and administrative support funds.

NRC procedures for allocating administrative support resulted in minor shifts of resources among the mission areas.

The shifts are associated with the transfer of funds for the publication of technical NUREG's and an EEO brochure, and support for the Technical Training Center simulator upgrades.

PROGRAM CHANGES Since the FY 1989 Second Quarter Base Table wat

.Nmitted, an additional $539,000 in deobligations from prior yea. contracts has been allocated to supplement the reallocation of adminis-trative support and program support funds to meet agency programmatic needs as described below.

This increase has been allocated to the NRC mission areas consistent with the NRC's allocation procedures.

Administrative Sunoort The slight net decrease will be used to help fund the higher travel costs being experienced by the NRC regional offices in carrying out the agency's mission.

This reduction has been allocated to the NRC mission areas consistent with the NRC's allocation procedures.

Procram Succort The slight net reduction in program support funding reflects a shift in resources to administrative support for the purchase of ADP equipment and to travel.

The nominal reallocation of program support funding among NRC mission areas reflects U o need to I

provide additional technical support to NRC spent fuel storage regulatory activities, training for agreement state personnel, agency accounting services, and support for the resident inspector exchange program.

Travel The nominal increase ref1r'. s the higher travel costs being experienced by the regions.nd program offices in carrying out the agency's mission.
