l A' PURPOSE This procedure provides' actions required during tornado or sustained high wind conditions.

B SYMPTOMS OR ENTET CONDITIONS

1. The following are symptoms of high wind conditions:

o OUR-EM001 - 30'Ft Meteorological Tower Wind Speed. Indication, greater than 60' MPH. -

o OUR-EM012 - 250 Ft Meteorological Tower Wind Speed'and Direction Indication, greater than 60 MPH.

2. This procedure can be entered if:

o -The. station has received notice that winds in the area are in excess of 60 MPH.

o. The station has received notice that the area-is under a tornado watch.

o The switchyard operator reports wind generated missiles in the vicinity of the station.

IF FP and WS Systems are NOT OPERABLE, and CW flume contains water, THEN use portable pumps to transfer water from CW flume to SX Tower Basins.

IF CW System inventory is NOT AVAILABLE, THEN:

1) Use portable pumps to transfer water from the' Rock River to SX Makeup Pump Suction Sump.-
2) Operate SX Makeup Pump to deliver water to SX Tower Basins.

IF CW System is ruptured to the Turbine Bldg basement, THEN use portable pumps to transfer water from Turbine Bldg bacement to SX Tower Basins.

b. IF a tornado warning has'been Tssued, g t

THEN consider opening Turbine )

Bldg bay doors.  !

c. Go TO Step 5 4 CHECK WIND SPEED:

  • Etop performance of any surveillance instructions that may make any ESF equipment inoperable e Stop any activities associated with fuel handling and shutdown all solid radioactive waste processing equipment e Tie down or remove all loose equipment and vehicles from l switchyard f 6 CONTMNUE TO 10NITOR WEATHER / WIND COND TIONS AVD EVALUATE PLANT STATUS
