April 14, 1989, Initial Response to NRCB 88-10 This report. is provided in accordance with reporting requirement 1.b of NRCB 88.10 as committed to in the referenced letter.
Reporting Requirement 1.b:
"Sumnarize the total number, manufacturer, model number, and to the extent possibic, the procurement chain of those circuit brenkers (CBs) that could not be traced to the circuit breaker manufacturer (CBM) in Items 1 and 4 of t'ne actions requested. For installed CBs, also identify each system in whic h they are/were installed. If Item 4 of the actions requested has not been completed by April 1, 1989, due to the schedule for test of the act4ons requested, this information should be updated within 30 days of the completion of Item 4 to address those additional CBs that could not be traced to the CBM."
PGE Res.ponse:
A inummary of the traceability of stored, spare CBs per Item 1 of NROB 88-10 was provided in the referenced letter.
The traceability verification, per Item 4 of NRCD 88-10, of all molded-case CBs that were purchased after August 1, 1983 and were installed in safety-related applications has been completed. Only one CB procured and installed after August 1, 1983, was found to lack traceability.
Specific information on this non-traceable CB is as follows:

Distributors (CED), Longview, Washington. A 8906070009 890602 record of who CED procured the CB from could not PDR ADOCK 03000344 be identified.

I Item 4 of NRCB 88-10 was completed on May 5, 1989, prior to the June 1, t
1989-commitment date provided in the referenced letter. This letter has been completed within the 30-day reporting requirement.
A qualified, traceable, replacement CB is scheduled to be installed in
-B-2206 prior to the end of the current refueling outage.
1 A report indicating that B-2206 has been replaced and that the PGE response to NRCB 88-10 has been completed will be submitted 30 days after the CB has been replaced.
