NRC Bulletin No. 89-01 addresses the failure of Westinghouse steam generator I
tube mechanical plugs. GPU Nuclear has reviewed the information contained in this NRC Bulletin and has determined that it is not applicable to TMI-2 in the J
current recovery mode. Based on this determination, GPU Nuclear will not implement the action plan reouested by the subject Bulletin. If a decision is j
made.to restart TMI-2, this NRC Bulletin will be re-evaluated.
