Attention: Document Control Desk Washington, DC 20555 South Texas Project Electric Generating Ststion Unit 1 Docket No. STN 50 498 ISI Plan for First Inspection Interval at STP Unit 1 Enclosed are four (4) copies of the Inservice Inspection (ISI) plan for the first inspection interval of South Texas Project Unit 1.
This ISI plan consists of three (3), documents. The first document, " Inservice Inspection Plan for the First Inspection Interval of the South Texas Project Electric Generating Station-Unit 1", contains an overview of the STPEGS-1 ISI program, including a description of the major ISI examination and testing programs (e.g., weld examination program, component support examination program, system pressure testing program, etc.).
A detailed description of H1AP's weld r
examination plan for STPECS-1 is presented in the second document.
The ISI weld examination plan, prepared by our examination agency (Southwest Research Institute), consi.ts of two (2) volumes entitled, "First 10 year Interval Lone-Tern Inservice Examination Plan for the South Texas Project Electric Generating Station,. Unit 1".
The third document is H14P's ISI examination plan for component supports (HIAP Specification No. SUO35JS0003), entitled,
" Inservice Inspection Examination of Component Supports of the South Texas Project Electric Generating Station-Unit 1".
The STPEGS-1 151 program for the first inspection interval will be performed in accordance with the requirements of the 1983 Edition of the ASt!E Section XI Code, " Rules for inservice Inspection of Nuclear Power Plant Co yut.ats", with addenda through che Summer 1983 Addenda.
HLAP's utilization of this edition and addenda of Section XI is in compliance with the
. requirements of 10CTR50.55a, " Codes and Standards". Additional bases for the ISI plan, in:-luding the STPEGS FSAR, various regulatory documents, and Section XI Code Co re referenced and discussed within the ISI plan. Ine IS3 plan for STPEGS-1 i. applicable to the first inspection interval (i.e., ten (10) calendar years) of plant operation commencing with commercial service of STPECS-1.
