Subject:
CONTRACT SECURITY ORGANIZATION FILES FOR CHAPTER 11 BANKRUPTCY On May 30, 1989, Globe Security Systems, Inc., the contractor that provides security services to UNC Naval Products, filed for bankruptcy under Chapter 11 of the Federal Bankruptcy Code. This action was taken to protect Globe from the creditors of its parent company, Sahlen and Associates. Sahlen and Associates has a)so filed for bankruptcy under Chapter 11.
Neither the licensee nor Globe expect any adverse impact on the on-site security operations.
Globe Security Systems also provides unarmed watchmen to augment the proprietary security organizations at Indian Point 3 and Calvert Cliffs 1 and 2 in Region I and is the prime contractor for the Oconee security force in Region II.
Region I was informed of this matter by the licensee at 10:00 a.m. on May 31, 1989. The NRC Offices of Nuclear Reactor Regulation and Nuclear Material Safety and Safeguards were informed by Regi6n I.
